Nothing is better than something that tastes so good that it makes you feel like you are eating a cheat meal.  A goto dish for any bodybuilder or athlete is sweet potato wedges. The secret to sweet potate wedges is the quality of the spices you are using.  

Do not trust any brand to make your sweet potate wedges or sweet potato fries taste magically delicious.

Here is one of our favorite sweet potato wedge recipes.

INGREDIENTS

SERVINGS 4

2 egg whites

1⁄2 teaspoon chili powder

3⁄4 teaspoon ground cumin

1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper

1⁄2 teaspoon sea salt

2 large sweet potatoes

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Spray a nonstick baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients; toss to coat. Transfer to the baking sheet.

Bake until potatoes are barely tender, about 15 minutes.

Increase the oven temperature to broil; broil until crispy, about 10 minutes. Serve at once.

If you had to pick just one herb or spice to keep in your kitchen, what would it be?  I am going to make it a little easier for you by taking Sea Salt and Fresh Ground Pepper off of the list.  We will just consider those two necessities like oxygen, water, and shelter.

 Based on my current diet I would choose cinnamon.  I put cinnamon on my oatmeal and in my protein shakes.  I could not survive without cinnamon because I could not tolerate either my oatmeal or my protein shakes without fresh ground cinnamon.
